The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today argued before a Delhi court that a woman witness in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Nirpreet Kaur had deposed that she had seen senior Congress leader Sajjan Kumar addressing a mob and provoking to attack and kill the Sikhs.
CBI counsel R S Cheema argued before District and Sessions Judge J R Aryan that Ms Kaur had also deposed that she has heard Sajjan Kumar saying, “no Sardar (Sikh) should be left alive”. Kill all Sikhs as they have killed my mother (the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi).”
The Judge was hearing the trial into the killing of six people in Delhi Cantonment area during the anti-Sikh riots.
Sajjan Kumar and five others are facing trial in the case. Nirpreet Kaur’s father was burnt alive during the riots.
Earlier, Ms Kaur had identified the senior Congress leader and the three others who had instigated the mob during the riots.
