New Delhi: In the wake of Home Ministry’s decision to re-investigate around 75 cases of anti-Sikh riots in Delhi and some other states, AAP on Sunday demanded that the cases be committed to dedicated courts and trial completed in a year. AAP’s Rajouri Garden MLA Jarnail Singh said the Delhi government will provide infrastructure for building these courts.
“We shall not tolerate a re-run of never ending trials. Central government has finally woken up from deep slumber on injustice to 1984 riots but only after a strongly worded letter from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about delay in reopening of Sikh massacre cases.
“Victims have been waiting for justice for 32 long painful years. Trial in 1984 riots should be time-bound and all these reopened cases should be committed to dedicated special courts to complete trial in a year,” Singh said.
