19-year-old Kabaddi player gang raped at Congress leader’s home

Ludhiana: Based on the complaint of 19-year-old Kabaddi player, a women wing Congress leader along with two others including a former Sarpanch has been arrested for alleged gang rape at the gun point in Ludhiana.

She alleged that when she was gang raped, Congress leader was sitting in the next room but didn’t help her.

The accused are Avtar Singh and Nirmal Singh, both from Patiala and Shahnaz of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in Khanna.

In her police complaint, Kabaddi player who is a student of class 12 said that she had met Avtar one-and-a-half year ago after which he asked her to organize a kabaddi tournament.

In her complaint, she disclosed every minute detail about the incident. She also said that Avtar took her to the first floor of his sister’s house where he started touching her inappropriately. She tried to resist him but Avtar took out his pistol and threatened. He then gang raped her at gunpoint along with his friend Nirmal and former sarpanch of the village.

Giving the details, SSP Satinder Singh said that the accused were booked for rape and criminal conspiracy and were arrested on Thursday. He also disclosed that Shahnaz is sent to judicial custody whereas Avtar Singh and Nirmal Singh were given to police remand.
