19-year-old girl murdered by boyfriend’s friend when she refused physical relation

Mumbai: Sohail Shaikh, boyfriend of 19-year-old Aishwarya Agarwal, IT student, was arrested by Mumbai Police on Saturday for investigations. His friend, Depak Waghri was also arrested on Friday for killing Agarwal, a resident Bolinj Virar.

Deepak Waghri remanded in police custody till 8th September by the local court on Saturday. A case was registered against him for murder and attempt to rape. Police alleged that Sohail had conspired with Waghri, after that Deepak attempted to rape Agarwal. Shaikh will also be produced before the magistrate today.

According to police officers, Agarwal was having relationship with Shaikh and both used to meet daily in Waghri’s house. On Friday, when Agarwal visited Waghri’s house to meet Shaikh, Waghri started insisting her for a physical relationship with him, but she refused. Waghri allegedly tried to rape her. Later, a scuffle took place between Waghri and Agarwal and Waghri picked up an axe and allegedly killed her.
