Atleast 19 persons, including ten Hanuman devotees were killed and several injured in four different road accidents in the state today. According to police, in a ghastly road accident in Karimnagar District, ten Hanuman devotees were killed and ten others injured when the lorry in which they were travelling overturned and fell into a gorge at Malyala Mandal in the district. The incident occured when 60 devotees hailing from Dharmaram of Nizambad District, travelling in a lorry returning after offering prayers at the temple, fell in a gorge when the lorry brakes failed. All the injured were admitted at Jagityala Area Hospital and their condition was stated to normal. However, in the same district, five members of a marriage party were killed and 15 injured when a van proceeding to Hyderabad collided with salt-laden lorry at Renigunta village in Thimmapuram Mandal. All the injured were shifted to Karimnagar Government Hospital.
At Nellore district, two persons were killed and 10 others injured when a tempo met with a head-on-collusion with a lorry on the highway near Venkatachalam village in the district.
In another accident, two persons were killed and three injured when three lorries collided one-by-one at Vardhannapet Mandal at Warangal district. UNI
