Gunmen opened fire on a parade of 400 people, which was organized by a social club — The Original Big 7 — in New Orleans on the occasion of Mothers” Day on Sunday. The shooting was not linked to terrorism and tagged as ”street violence” by federal investigators.
The New York Post reported that around 19 people were injured in the shooting, including two children. The wounds were not life threatening, the report added. Police officers were interspersed with the marchers, as a routine for such events. There have been no arrests yet, but the police suspect three people who ran away from the scene of shooting. It is not clear if the shots were fired at specific people in the second line or were shot in a random fashion. Police vowed to nab the criminals and make the arrests. (ANI)
