178 employees of MWD deprived of 5-month salary

Hyderabad: 178 employees of Minority Welfare Department have been deprived of 5-month salary and are forced to starve. Staff of Urdu Computer Centres and Libraries are facing apathy of higher officials. They are forced to take loans to meet their family expenses.

Despite clear directions by the government in connection with payment of salaries, the officials do not have sympathy for the family of poor staff. Last month during Minority Welfare function TRS MLC MS Prabhakar had invited deputy chief minister and officials attention towards the issue on which Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali directed the officials to ensure payment of the salaries but they have not been paid salaries for 5 months.

These employees are deputed where and when needed, they have played key role in establishment of minority schools. They were then linked with the offices of District Minority Welfare to reduce staff crunch. But when it comes to payment of salaries higher officials ignore them as if they are not employees of Minority Welfare Department.
