17-year-old girl lured by Lecturer

A 32-year-old engineering college lecturer allegedly raped a minor girl at Vanastalipuram.

The accused P. Kiran Kumar Reddy, a resident of Hasthinapuram enticed a 17-year old girl, and put her up at a ladies hostel near his house for two weeks. He used to take her for outing every day without the knowledge of her parents. Kiran, the accused, is already married, bought dress and jewels for the girl to win over her for his “love.”

Police rescued the girl, and a manhunt has been launched for the teacher. The victim’s father had lodged a complaint with the police stating that his daughter had gone missing. Later on, her family members and the police found her at a ladies hostel in Hasthinapuram.

She made clear to them about the college teacher. Kiran Kumar, who is a teacher at the Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology has been introduced to the girl through a common friend and established a relationship. “Since February 1, the girl had gone missing from home.

Inspector P Gopala Krishna Murthy said, after rescuing the girl, we found that Kiran had lured the girl and put her up at a hostel without the knowledge of her family.”

“Kiran used to visit her every day and buy her clothes and ornaments He also established a sexual relationship with her. Since the girl is a minor, it amounts to rape. So we booked a case against him,” said the Inspector.

Police filed a case against Kiran under Section 376 (rape) 920 (cheating) and 368 (concealing an abducted person). Kiran is now absconding.
