Shimla, March 14: With education being its top priority, the Himachal Pradesh government has allocated 17 per cent of the budget outlay for the financial year 2010-11 on the sector, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said today.
The government has proposed 99 per cent subsidy under Pandit Deen Dayal Kisan Bagwaan Samridhi Yojana to BPL families, Dhumal said, addressing a public meeting at Bandrol in Kullu district.
After laying foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalya at Bandrol, he lauded the organisation for providing free education to rural children in the country.
“The quality education being imparted through these schools help poor and deserving rural children to gain new heights in their career,” he said.
