16 swine Flu patients discharged from city hospital

Hyderabad, June 28: Out of the total 17 positive Influenza A/H1N1 cases admitted to the Andhra Pradesh Chest Hospital, 16 patients were discharged after treatment and one was undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Chest Hospital Superintendent S V Prasad told UNI here today, 78 suspected cases were reported to the hospital, since the epidemic spread outside the country for the last three months. Out of these cases, 17 were reported positive and all the patients had undergone treatment in the hospital, as 16 were discharged and one was still in the hospital, responding to the treatment. Though there were no fresh suspected cases since last two days, four fresh cases of swine Flu had been admitted to the hospital on June 26.

Dr Prasad said those admitted to hospital, included a 23-year-old Indian student from Londan, a ten-year-old girl from Bahrain, a 33-year-old lady from New York and a ten-year-old boy from New Jersey. The blood samples and mouth swabs were sent to National Institute of Communical Diseases. which had given negative reports on three cases. The hospital was yet to receive reports on one suspected case.
