As part of the Mission Kakatiya project that is being taken up to renovate the tanks in the State, the government has issued guidelines for construction of mini tank bunds in the Assembly headquarters.
According to officials as much as 150 mini tank bunds would be constructed in the ongoing first phase.
Government aiming to have one mini tank bund in each of the 119 Assembly constituencies and around 36 more would come in Hyderabad.
It has issued particular guidelines for the benefit of officials to prepare estimates for construction of mini tank bunds. The specific guidelines said that the tank for creating mini tank bund should be selected from the headquarters of the Assembly constituency in the first phase.
According to officials Park area with children play ground may be developed in 2 to 3 acres of land at the end of bund. For public conveniences, benches, snack counters using prefabricated materials should be arranged.
Better illumination should be there at the top bund & park area. Jetty may be provided for boating facilities. The minimum depth of water required is 1m for pedal boating and 2m for mechanised boating.
