15-year old tiger cured of oral cavity tumour

Shatrudhan, a 15-year old tiger of the Kota Zoo suffering from tumour in its mouth, has now been cured and the big cat is recovering well after a successful surgery.
Renowned wildlife veterinary surgeon at the Jaipur Zoo, Dr Arvind Mathur has performed the first-ever surgery of its kind. He operated out 3X2 inch unique tumour weighing 50 grams from the feline’s buccal cavity.
Dr Mathur, who has to his credit a number of unusual surgeries done on tigers and lions, told UNI here this evening that this was the first every surgery of oral cavity of a tiger in Rajasthan.
The operation was performed jointly by him and Dr Akhilesh Pandey of Kota zoo, he added. UNI
