Hyderabad: Secretary of Minority Welfare B Mahesh Datt revealed that the scholarship for the year 2018 has been sanctioned. 15 crore has been sanctioned in this regard which will be released next week. He said the new applications for the year 2019 will be accepted online from the first week of February.
Mr Datt also announced that efforts are on to provide an honorarium to imams and muezzins online.
In an exclusive meeting with Siasat correspondent Shahnawaz Baig, Mr Mahesh told that the welfare schemes were stopped for some time due to election code. However, they will be implemented from now onwards.
Mr Mahesh told that Rs. 20 lakhs will be deposited in the accounts of students studying in foreign institutions.
A special committee will be formed in the next week of February for the year 2019. A government website will be launched where online applications could be submitted.
