Madhya Pradesh: A 14-yr-old girl’s autopsy was conducted in broad daylight without any curtains outside the hospital premises in Narsingpur region of Madhya Pradesh after she died of electrocution.
When the doctor who performed the autopsy was confronted, he said the medical superintendent of the hospital gave him permission to conduct the autopsy in the open, as the hospital had no other choice, with a dead calf lying in the room and the mortuary ward full.
There is a standard procedure for performing autopsies, this incident has left the onlookers horrified with the procedures carried out for post-mortem. With few incidents in the past, the poorer section of the society is forced to face difficult situations in rural hospitals while ongoing treatment for their families and themselves.
Apart from improving transport and technology services for its people, the Government should also plan on to improving medical facilities and conditions of rural hospitals in the state, Times Now reported.
