At least 14 people have been killed and about 50 others injured in several attacks in and around Balochistan capital Quetta.
The attacks included a suicide bombing targeting the country’s top religious leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Rehman was attacked outside a rally venue in Quetta, but survived. At least two people were killed and 30 others were injured in the incident.
Official reports said, the blast occurred when the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl chief was leaving the rally venue. The banned militant group, Jundallah, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Quetta, where six are said to be in critical condition.
In a separate incident, at least three people were killed and 14 others were injured in a roadside bombing on Qambrani Road in Quetta.
A paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle was also targeted by a remote controlled bomb. Unidentified gunmen thereafter opened indiscriminate gun fire on the vehicle. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack as yet.
In another incident, unidentified gunmen killed at least nine Shias, members of the ethnic Hazara community, who were travelling in a bus through the Hazar Ganji area of Quetta.
