138 officers pass out of IAF Aeronautical Engg course

Under Training Flying Officers (UTFOs) of 83 Aeronautical Engineering Course, 55 Short Service Commission (Men and Women) graduated today at an impressive ceremony held at Air Force Academy (AFA) here at Dundigal.

The UTFOs, after successfully completing their 22 weeks of basic training at this Academy, they will proceed to the Air Force Technical College, Bangalore for advanced professional training in Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics), and Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) fields.

The valediction ceremony was reviewed by Air Marshal RG Burli VM, Commandant of the Air Force Academy. While addressing the graduating contingent, the Commandant advised the UTFOs to continue enhancing their professional competence and skills to ensure smooth transformation into a good officer and a professional air warrior. He apprised the young air warriors of a bright and challenging career ahead. The Commandant congratulated the award winners in various streams including

UTFO Krishan Kant Issar and UTFO Vatan Goyal for standing first and second respectively in order of merit in Aeronautical Engineering Course, while UTFO Jilay Shravan Kumar was declared best in general service training. The Commandant’s Banner was presented to the Brar Squardon as ‘Overall Champion Squadron’.

The awards were given to UTFO Krishan Kant Issar for Best in Academics, Fight Cadet Vivek for Best in ‘Outdoor Training’ (male) while UTFO Shristi Sharma got the award as Best in Outdoor Training (female).

An Inter Squadron Drill Competition was held amongst the four training Squadrons of the Academy. Flight Cadets in their immaculate blue uniforms, displayed crisp and smart drill movements while marching to martial tunes played by the IAF Band. Air Marshal RG Burli VM awarded trophies to the Squadrons for their overall exemplary performance in academics and outdoor training. (INN)
