13357 vacancies sanctioned in Electricity Dept. – KCR’s historic decision

Hyderabad: CM of Telangana State, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao sanctioned a record number of vacancies in Electricity Dept. In all, he has approved 13357 posts to be filled up which includes the vacancies right from Linemen to Executive Directors. He has also issued orders for the promotion of 10000 employees at a time.

This is for the first time in the newly formed State that the Govt. has sanctioned a large number of posts. This Dept. consists of GENCO, TRANSCO and DISCOM. It has the responsibility of production, transmission and distribution of electrical power.

In the history of this Dept. so many vacancies and promotions were not sanctioned. Since 2012, various representations were being made for filling up the vacant posts. CM instructed the officials to complete the process of filling up the post as early as possible.

It may be mentioned that Telangana has been developing fast in the area of supply of electricity. At present power is being supplied to domestic consumer, industries and business for 24 hours. Attempts are also being made to supply electrical power to agriculture sector from the next year for 24 hours.
