13-year-old in city alleges rape by father

Jaipur,May 20: In a case of child abuse case that shocked the entire city, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father in her house at Rajendra Prasad Nagar under Shyam Nagar police station area.

The child was allegedly being abused by her father for the last one month and the crime came to light when an NGO activist reported the matter to the Shyam Nagar police on Tuesday.

Following this, the father was arrested and medical examination of the child was conducted. The police said the accused worked as a gardener and his wife worked as a domestic help.

A 13-year-old girl in the city was allegedly raped by her aloholic father in her house at Rajendra Prasad Nagar.

“He was an alcoholic. The Non-Government Organization (NGO) representative came along with the child in the morning and told the police that the girl was being abused by her father for the last one month,” said Raghuveer Saini, circle officer of Sodala.

The girl had mentioned the incident to her friend who is of the same age and lives in front of the house of the
victim.

“The friend informed a family where her mother works as domestic help. The landlady knew the NGO representative, Jaya Sharma, and told her about it. The NGO people reached the house in the morning and after getting confirmation from the victim, they reported the matter to the police,” Saini added.

He said Jeevan Singh would rape the child after getting drunk. He would allegedly commit the crime after the mother who works as domestic help at house in the locality and three siblings were out.

When informed by the NGO, the police raided his house in Rajendra Prasad Nagar, but could not find him. “He had gone to Jhotwara military area to mow a lawn. He was arrested from there under Section 376 of IPC,” said Saini.

The police said they have taken the girl’s statement. “We are recording the statement of accused’s wife and other siblings also,” the CO added.

The medical examination of the victim and the accused has also been conducted and the report is awaited.
