Hyderabad, September 08: The Cyberabad Police have arrested 13 persons on charge of stealing motorbikes from different parts of the city.
They have claimed to have solved several two-wheeler theft cases by recovering 74 bikes from them and also seized 948 LPG cylinders all worth over Rs 73 lakh.
Acting on credible information, the police today nabbed a three-member gang led by one Bontha Mahesh, who allegedly stole three lorries recently containing 948 cooking cylinders at a bottling plant in Cherlapally, Cyberabad Police Commissioner S Prabhakar Reddy told reporters.
Two other members of the gang are absconding, he said.With regard to two-wheeler lifters, he said the police apprehended three persons and recovered five two-wheelers from their possession.He further said police nabbed a gang of three persons and seized 38 two-wheelers.
Similarly, police arrested four persons who were allegedly involved in several motorcycle theft cases in the limits of L B Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hayathnagar, Meerpet police stations of Cyberabad Commissionerate and Chandrayangutta police station of Hyderabad Commissionerate and recovered 31 motor cycles from them, Reddy said.
