13 lakh students to take SSC exams today

Hyderabad, March 24: Nearly 13 lakh students will appear for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations which will commence from Thursday across 5,841 centres in the state. The exams will be held from 9.30 am to 12 noon till April 9.

Students who did not receive the hall-tickets can download the same from the websites ‘www.manabadi.com and www.schools9.com’. Students have been advised to reach the examination hall half an hour before the commencement of examination.

All arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the examinations. Answer sheets, maps, graphs and other required material has been already transported to the examination centres.

The officials found that about 500 examination centres do not have proper furniture and sanctioned Rs 2,500 each centre to make temporary arrangements to avoid inconvenience to the students.

The officials warned that schools which engage in malpractices such as facilitating cheating and copying will be derecognised.

About 450 special squads have been constituted to check malpractices in the exam centres.

Section 144 will be in force to control unlawful assembly near examination centres. The RTC is plying special buses for SSC students.

From this year, the bar code system will be implemented in the SSC exams

“The candidates have to fill up the number of the allotted barcodes in the answer sheet. When the answer sheets are swapped, there will be no hitches, as the barcode would provide greater security,” the officials said.

Spot valuation of SSC answer scripts is likely to commence from April 11 and the results will be announced in the third week of May. Advanced supplementary examinations will be held in June or July.
