Mehdavia graveyard is located at Neknampura. Although Waqf Board had installed boards mentioning it to be a Waqf land here and there, contractor of YSR Enclave and his supporters pulled them out. Afterwards Waqf Board inscribed the notice on hillocks with paint but the hillocks too were bulldozed by the miscreants. Earlier 850 plots were allotted to secretariat employees on the said land on which the secretariat employees have started constructing houses.
The Mehdavia graveyard located at Neknampura was once spread over 100 acre land which has shrunk gradually because of illegal occupation, while the government remains a mute spectator. Even till the 2nd survey in the year 2005 14 acre land, identified in Waqf survey, was intact.
The graveyard is 400 year old. In 1995 BJP MLA Badambal Reddy erected a large number of huts for Dalit community however district collector Rangareddy later vacated the huts. Later in the year 2003 during TDP rule Chandrababu Naidu permitted construction of colony for Secretariat employees on the Waqf land and the chairman of the cooperative society of the employees is day by day expanding the colony on the Waqf land. If this is continued all the 13 acre land will be occupied and the Waqf Board will only have land papers in its hands.
