Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana has decided to include 1215 vacancies of Urdu Medium teachers in proposed DSC. In addition to this reserved vacancies of Urdu medium will also be included in open category.
Dy. CM, in charge of Education, Mr. K. Sri Hari held a meeting with the officials of the Departments of Education and Minorities Welfare. Approval was given in the meeting for starting 120 residential schools for minorities during the next three years. Present in the meeting were Dy. CM, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali. DGP of ACB, Mr. A.K. Khan, Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Director of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Mohammed Jalaaluddin Akbar, IFS, MD of Minorities Finance Corporation, Mr. Shafiullah, Director of Urdu Academy, Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Education, Director of School Education and Secretary, Dept. of Social Welfare.
Authentic sources indicated that the plan of action for the establishment of 120 residential schools for Minorities would be finalized within two days. It would be submitted to the State Cabinet for its approval.
It has also been decided to setup 30 residential schools in the first year and another 30 schools in the second year whereas the remaining 60 schools in the third year. Collectors of the districts are being made responsible for identification of 6 acres of land for each school. In case, Govt. land is not available, Wakf land would be allotted. For each school, Rs. 20 crore would be spent. A separate education society would be formed to monitor all these residential schools. It has been decided to provide all the basic amenities and educational justice in these schools. State syllabus would be followed in these schools. An officer of the rank of IAS would be posted to monitor the administration of these schools.
Director of School Education informed that there are 1215 vacant posts of Urdu medium teachers. Mr. K. Sri Hari instructed the officials to include all these vacancies in the DSC to be held soon. He told them to find out the details about more vacant Urdu medium posts.
It may be mentioned that the last DSC was held in 2012 and 50.3% Urdu medium vacancies could not be filled up due to the reservations of SC and ST. It has now been decided to include these reserved vacancies in open category.
For imparting training to the Urdu medium teachers, there are DIETs wherein, there are 40 vacancies of lecturers, out of which 32 posts are vacant. In this manner, only 8 lecturers are working in Urdu medium DIETs. Mr. K. Sri Hari instructed the official to recruit Urdu medium lecturers in DIETs. It is expected that after the cabinet nod, recruitments would be held.
