Hyderabad, October 03 (Siasat News): A startling rise in deaths due to road accidents has been observed during the current rainy season in the twin cities.
An average of 40 deaths occurred each month resulting in a total of 121 in three months, which are far higher than the deaths occurred in any other season.
The statistics issued by the traffic wing of the police department state that uneven roads are also a major cause for deaths in rainy season. According to the traffic wing 46 deaths in July, 40 in August and 45 deaths in September have been reported during the current rainy season.
The roads have been greatly damaged during rains this year despite that the municipal department or the Road and buildings department have not yet come into action.
