Hyderabad: We want the reward for our sacrifices, we are not the beggars. We don’t want to beg, we want 12% reservations. We will struggle for getting these reservations. These were the thoughts expressed by Mr. Mohammed Kareem Ahmed, President of MSRAC of Jagtiyal. He was addressing a public meeting to create awareness for getting 12% reservation for Muslims. The meeting was arranged in collaboration with Popular Front of India, branch Jagtiyal. He told that Mr. KCR had promised to provide 12% reservations to Muslims in his election manifesto which could not be fulfilled till today. He further told that legal complications are nothing. In other states the percentage of reservations has gone up to 60%. The constitution of India makes a provision under Article 15 (5) to the deprived section of society in the field of education and Article 16(4) makes a provision for providing reservation in the field of employment for those who are economically backward. If these Articles are clear, why is Govt. of Telangana doing injustice to the Muslims of the State. We want the reward for our sacrifices which we offered during Telangana movement.
Mass public meeting is being organized on 29th May in Kareem Nagar. Mr. Riyazuddin, President of Millath-e-Islamia organization criticized Mr. KCR that he is making only verbal promises and he is not taking any practical steps. Mr. Shoeib-ul-Haq, Amer of Jamat-e-Islami advised the Muslim to come forward to the field of education. Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali Aksar, President of Urdu Academy Employees’ Association told that 12% reservation is the right of the Muslims. He asked the Muslims to continue their struggle.
