On the occasion of first anniversary of Telangana State formation day on Tuesday, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao promises of soon fulfilling its election promise of constructing over 50,000 houses for the poor at a cost of Rs 25K crore.
Rao also assures that TRS is commitment to 12% reservations in education institution and jobs to Muslims adding a committee was already in place and measures would be initiated based on its report.
“Govt would soon release a notification this month for filling up 25,000 posts besides regularization of services of contract workers”, Rao added.
The chief minister began the day by paying tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial near the legislative assembly building and then proceeded to the Parade Grounds to take part in the state formation day celebrations.
Reffering to Palamuru lift irrigation project costing Rs 35,000 crore, he said “We would be taken up to meet drinking water requirements of Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts.”Some people resorted to a hateful campaign that if Telangana is created, the state would plunge into darkness due to power crisis. But we have proved those fears were mislaid,” Rao said.
“I will soon lay the foundation stone for the mega thermal power station at Damarcherla in Nalgonda district. Simultaneously, soon the two other power stations at Kothagudem and Manuguru will also be set up,” he said.
On problems and grievances related to police personnel, Rao said a committee headed by the DGP would be constituted to look into the issues. He said Rs 400 crore was sanctioned to the police department to procure vehicles and modern equipment.
