12% reservation bill for Muslims – Governor sends the bill to MHA

Hyderabad: 12% reservation bill for Muslims gets Governor’s nod and it was sent to Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. After the bill is passed by the Central Govt., it becomes necessary that the bill is sent to President of India for his assent.

Normally, when the bill is passed by Ministry of Home Affairs, it is sent to President. After his assent, Addl. percentage of reservation would be implemented.

It may be mentioned that Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council passed this bill in a special session held in Hyderabad in which 12% reservation for Muslims and 10% reservation for STs was suggested. After passing the bill in State Assembly and Council, Govt. sent it to Governor. He sought the legal opinion of Law Dept.

It remains to be seen how long the Central Govt. would take for passing this bill.
