Colombo: Twelve Indian nationals have been arrested in Sri Lanka’s Eastern Province for allegedly abusing visa conditions.
The police arrested the 12 Indian nationals, including seven females, in Kattankudy in Batticaloa district as they were engaged in business having arrived on tourist visas, reports Lanka Page.
The police said the group was engaged in the trade of medicinal drugs in several areas across the country. Herbal oils and other herbal products were seized from the possession of the arrested Indians.
Those arrested will be produced before the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court today. (ANI)
