Tamil Nadu: Challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi, as many as 111 farmers from Tamil Nadu have decided to fight the electoral battle against the PM and file nominations from the holy city. After taking their protests to the national capital, the distressed farmers have made a unique challenge to PM Modi, just days before the crucial polls.
According to PTI, Tamil Nadu farmers’ leader P Ayyakannu told on Saturday that 111 farmers from the state will contest against Modi from Varanasi. However, they will drop their decision to contest against Modi, the moment it is assured in BJP’s manifesto that their demands will be fulfilled.
The decision enjoys the support of farmers everywhere as well as All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee. The farmers’ leader revealed that the decision to contest the polls from Uttar Pradesh was to urge the BJP to include their demands in BJP’s manifesto. According to him, he has already booked train tickets for 300 farmers to go to Varanasi.
