An 11-year-old girl was strangled to death in the limits of Jeedimetla police station.
According to police, the deceased, L Bhavya, a student of 5th class, was found murdered at her residence in New Shapur Nagar on Tuesday morning. Her body was noticed by her neighbour Kalapana, who informed the police.
Enquiries by the police revealed that Bhavya was alone at the residence after her father Govind Rao left for his duty on Tuesday. About an hour later, Govind Rao’s friend Manoj alias Madhu was seen leaving the house by Kalpana who was sitting at her stairs. A few minutes later, when Kalapana entered the house, she was shocked to find that Bhavya was strangled to death using a cloth.
Jeedimetla police registered a case of murder and began investigation. The body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem was conducted on it on Wednesday. (INN)
