Hyderabad, December 14: Eleven ministers from Telangana area today said they would not quit the Rosiah’s Cabinet since the decision of the UPA on creation of separate Telangana state was in their favour.
Speaking to mediapersons after conferring with the Chief Minister, Information and Public Relations Minister J Geetha Reddy said that it was necessary for all the Congress leaders, including those from Rayalaseema and Andhra, to honour the party’s decision on Telangana and appealed to them not to show disrepect to her byburning her in effigy.
“We will take a serious view if any activist of the party resorts to such an act,’’ she said. She appealed to those who had alredy resigned to reconsider their decision and described the agiatations in
Andhra and Rayalaseema areas as artificial and said she had asked the police to
take stern action against those who resorted to violence. Lok Sabha member from Malkajgiri Sarve Satyanarayana took objection to his Vijayawada counterpart Lagadapti Rajagopal starting an agitation for an integrated state. “I do not understand the basis for an agitation for an integrated State. One fights for separation and not for integration. It is quite srtrange,’’ he said, adding that Rajagopal should be thankful that he was getting a separate Andhra state without having.
