At least 11 people were killed Sunday during a security operation in Afghanistan’s Helmand province.
According to officials, the victims were key Taliban commander Mullah Momen, two security personnel and eight militants, Xinhua reported.
The operation was carried out by the National Directorate of Security on the Helmand-Kandahar highway.
Momen’s death could be a major setback to the insurgents in Helmand and the adjoining provinces, the official added.
