108 Emergency workers to continue strike

The workers of 108 emergency ambulance services, who went on strike on May 14, have decided to continue their strike demanding increase in salaries and fulfillment of other demands.

Meanwhile, the officials of Health Department have claimed that the strike had no impact on the regular functioning of emergency ambulance services. Besides hiring private drivers, the department is utilising the services of Lab Technicians and other para-medical staff.

As many as 316 Ambulances of 108 service transport nearly 1600 patients to various hospitals across 10 districts of Telangana. They include 43 ambulances of Hyderabad. The workers have been demanding increase in salaries, accidental insurance and restoration of services of 70 workers, who were removed earlier. (INN)
