A total of 1,033 companies of state police and central para-military force would be deployed in the 14,709 polling stations in 57 constituencies in the final round of voting in the Bihar Assembly poll on November 5, a senior electionofficial said today.
As many as 74,469 polling personnel would be manning the polling stations, Additional Chief Electoral Officer R Lakshmanan said.
Out of the 14,709 polling stations, 5,518 and 276 polling stations have been declared as critical and ultra Left extremism-hit booths respectively, he said.
Lakshamanan said altogether there are 335 model polling stations while live web casting would be carried out in 840 polling stations spread in 57 constituencies.
53 motor boats would be pressed into service for riverine patrolling while 50 mounted police force personnel would be deployed in the fifth phase of balloting.
A total of 2201 micro observers would be deployed besides 57 general observers, 18 expenditure observers and nine police observers, the Additional CEO said.
The authorities have seized Rs 2.51 crore unaccounted cash besides 83,067 litres of illicit country-made and foreign liquor worth Rs 1.34 crore from nine districts going to polls in fifth and final phase of polling on November 5.
In matters related to law and order, 80,074 persons have been bound down under preventive sections of CrPC, while 12,047 non-bailable warrants executed, Lakshmanan said, adding a sum of Rs 2.76 crore have been collected as fine during vehicle checking.
A total of 118 arms and weapons and 583 cartridges have been seized while 4,994 licensed arms deposited with the authorities whereas 1,937 arms license cancelled, he said.
In the incidents related to enforcement of model code of conduct till the end of fifth phase, 138 cases have been registered for defacement in public property, while 42 cases have been lodged for defacement in private property, he said.
