Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Shabbir Ali and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy appealed Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma to ensure safe return of the Telugu pilgrims stranded in the Kashmir Valley.
In a letter to the CS, the Congress legislators demanded the State Government rush team of experts and ensure that the Telugu pilgrims who were on Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir valley are back home safely.
Around 600 people from Andhra Pradesh and 400 from Telangana are among the 15,000 Amarnath yatris stranded in different parts of Kashmir and Srinagar.
Telangana minister Dr. C. Lakshma Reddy assured that the safety of all tourists from the state will be ensured during the suspension of the yatra. “They will be brought back safely,” the minister said and added that the arrangements for their shelter and food are being taken care by the officials.
