7 years on and despite crores of rupees wasted for its refurbishment, River Moosi is nothing more than a stinking drain. A far cry from getting a face-lift the condition of the river has further worsened. Government’s various departments namely Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Water Board have vainly drained more than 1000 crore rupees in the name of Moosi Beautification Project.
Started with the aim of reviving the river, improving its surroundings, preserving ecology, removing pollution and helping the socio-economic development of the city, the project has now reached to a standstill with Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority showing lackadaisical attitude towards the project.
