100% Result: Headmaster’s new formula “Switched off TV” works

While most other schools struggled to achieve even 60 per cent results this year, a government school achieved 100% results by switching off TV.

According to sources a school in Pulkal village, in Medak, achieved 100 per cent results in SSC. The headmaster’s effort in convincing parents to remove TV connections for three months from homes has worked wonders.

The district administration has decided to felicitate the headmaster, Mohd Zakir Hussain, who succeeded in convincing parents to remove cable TV connections. Mr Husain is likely to be considered for the “Best Headmaster Award” to be presented on the TS Formation Day on June 2.

According to Mr Hussain during his interaction with students, he found that TVs at home is the reason of distraction of students.

“Students in government schools belong to poorer sections of the society. As they live in single-room houses, it is not possible for them to concentrate on studies when their parents or siblings watch TV and these way students move away from studies” said Hussain.

Moreover, this year’s SSC exams clashed with the cricket World Cup. I held a meeting with parents. I told them if they wanted their children to pass exams with good marks, they would have to cooperate with me by removing cable connections. They agreed and it really worked,” Mr Hussain added.

According to Mr Hussain students who get into IIT’s and other renowned colleges pay full attention towards their studies. “They do not have TVs at home and keep themselves away from this dreamy world, that’s the reason they fly high”, said the headmaster.

“Sixty-six students appeared for the SSC exams and all of them have cleared the exams with one student scoring 8.7 GPA. Next year, my target is to see that majority score 10/10,” said the headmaster. Last year, the school’s pass percentage was only 89 per cent.

Officials are planning to extend the same policy to other government schools next year to achieve better SSC results.
