100 per cent toilets by Oct 2, 2018: Jupally

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today directed that 100 per cent individual toilets should be constructed at every village by October 2, 2018.

 

At a high level review meeting at Secretariat here, the minister instructed the officials to prepare an action plan to construct individual toilets to tide over the open defecation problem in rural pockets. The plan will be implemented using funds through Swatch Bharath Mission and employment guarantee scheme. The minister wanted  the involvement  of village committees and self help groups to get better results. The village committees and women of SHGs will work in tandem to reach the target of constructing the toilets at villages. He emphasized the need for clean and green environment as the state government wants to promote swatch Telangana.

 

He also asked  the officials to set up skill development centers in every district to offer more employment opportunities to the youth to get jobs. Krishna Rao also discussed on Asara pensions and implementation of cashless transactions in the state. Employment Generation and Marketing Mission (EGMM) will be set up in every district to give training and skills to the youth for jobs he remarked. He asked the officials to prepare a related action plan by Jan 1 and take necessary measures. The minister also favoured steps for distribution of Asara pensions and promotion of cashless transactions.(NSS)
