A 10-year-old daughter of a farm labourer was allegedly raped by her uncle in an agriculture field in Dharampur taluka of Valsad district on Friday evening. The police have arrested the accused and started investigations.
According to case details, farm labourer Ratilal Nayka, a resident of Bamti village in Dharampur taluka, had gone to his friend’s house along with his 10-year-old daughter to watch India-Bangladesh cricket match on TV on Friday evening.
After some time, Nayka returned home for some work leaving his daughter at his friend’s house. Nayka’s cousin, Magan Nayka (19), later took her to drop her home. On the way, Magan took her to an agricultural field and raped her.
He threatened her not to disclose the incident to anybody. The girl returned home alone and started crying. She narrated the incident to her mother Jasu Nayka. The news soon spread in the village and the villagers caught the accused and handed him over to the Dharampur police.
On Friday, Nayka lodged a rape complaint against Magan Nayka at the Dharampur police station. The girl was taken to the government hospital for medical examination by the police on Friday.
Dharampur S-I H S Bawa said, “We have started investigation in the case and arrested the accused. The accused serves in a private company at Vapi.”
