Hyderabad, June 29: A 10-year-old boy who was quarantined by the doctors of the Government Chest Hospital on Saturday, has been found affected by the Influenza A H1N1 (Swine Flu).
The doctors confirmed that the boy is suffering with the infection and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to the doctors, the 10-year-old boy came from New Jersey to Hyderabad on June 25 and was quarantined at the Chest Hospital after he developed the symptoms of Swine Flu including sore throat, body ache and fever.
The examination of the throat and nasal swabs obtained from the patient confirmed the presence of disease.
The doctors have also obtained swabs from his mother who accompanied the boy to Hyderabad and sent it for examination.
“Among the four suspected cases of swine flu which were reported on Sunday, only one case has been confirmed to be positive and the results of a 23-year-old Indian student from London are awaited. Two other cases have been proved negative,” said Dr Shubhakar, head of palmonologists team treating the patients.
The doctors have also received another case from Germany where a 14-month-old baby has developed symptoms of Swine Flu. The baby along with her parents came to Hyderabad this morning and was suffering from fever.
She was quarantined at the hospital immediately and her throat and nasal swabs have been sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases in New Delhi for examination.
The test results are awaited, the doctors said.
