At least ten people lost their lives as a bus overturned after it lost control and fell into a gorge in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district on Monday.

Eight people died on the spot while two others breathed their last in Garhwa’s Sadar Hospital.

The bus was on its way to Bihar’s Sasaram town from Raigarh city in Chhattisgarh when the accident took place.

Neelam, an official at the Sadar Hospital, said most of the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

“Around 20 injured people have been admitted here. A girl died after she was brought to the hospital; I have heard that around 10 to 12 people have died in this mishap,” said Neelam.

Some passengers, who were critically injured, have been admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi. (ANI)
