New Delhi: Ten sophisticated pistols being smuggled from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi were recovered from the driver of a container truck near Rajokari on Delhi-Gurgaon border, police said today.
Accused Arif Khan was arrested by a team of Special Cell as he reached Rajokari in his container truck from MP. Ten sophisticated, semi automatic pistols of .32 and 9 MM calibre were recovered from his possession, said V Renganathan, Joint Commissioner (Special Cell).
Arif received the pistols from one Pardhan Singh alias Sardarji, main supplier of the weapons from Sendhwa (MP). The weapons were to be delivered to suppliers of illegal arms in Delhi-NCR, Mubin and Hashim belonging to Mathura, the officer said.
The Special Cell has found that in most of the crimes commited in Delhi and NCR, illicit weapons manufactured in Khargone, Sendhwa and Dhar districts of Madhya Pradesh are being used.
