Urdu Medium schools and colleges face a lot of problems in Andhra Pradesh. They lack effective facilities which result in rise in dropout rate. Although the government implements schemes in the educational institutions but majority of the school and colleges fail to avail the schemes due to anti-Urdu attitude.
SIO Andhra Pradesh has conducted a survey of 62 Urdu medium junior colleges in 18 districts of state and has exposed shocking revelations. According to the survey, among the thousands of colleges in the state Urdu medium government colleges are only 70 to 75. Nearly 13000 students study in those colleges which have requirement of 569 lecturers but the government has appointed only 130 lecturers on regular basis. Nearly 279 lecturers have been appointed on contract basis and nearly 60 posts remain vacant.
