1 Lakh jobs in private sector: AP CM

Hyderabad, January 04: As per the promise made by the Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy to provide one lakh jobs in the private sector by the end of December, 1,01,082 jobs have been created so far. Of this 76,908 have been provided employment through the EGMM, MEPMA – 14,826, Technical Education department – 2,258, employment and training department – 7,090. Of the 76,908 jobs created by the EGMM, 53,580 have been provided training, 20,048 have been provided direct employment while 3,280 have been provided self employment.

Vision of RYK is to convert non-literate, school drop-out, unskilled & semi-skilled unemployed youth into productive workforce by building their skills, thereby promoting inclusive growth. The implementation shall be on a mission mode.

The mission proposes to employ 15 lakh youth in jobs in the private industry by 2014. A High level council ‘Rajiv Education & Employment Council of Andhra Pradesh’ (REECAP) has been set up under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister with 9 Cabinet Ministers, Principal Secretaries of relevant Departments and 10 representatives of the industry and academia for creating necessary policy environment and guiding the implementation process.

This is a unique body which brings the best of Government Industry and Academia together to maximize opportunities for the unemployed youth. An exclusive State Level Society ‘Rajiv Education & Employment Mission in Andhra Pradesh’ (REEMAP) has been registered to coordinate the efforts of all sub-missions on a mission mode. REEMAP is fully empowered and funded to address the common needs of all the sub-missions and ensure that each sub-mission performs to its expected level and the objectives of RYK are achieved in letter and spirit.

Sub-Mission for rural employment, Sub-Mission for urban slums, Sub-Mission for urban areas, Sub-Mission for placements in Education Institutions, Sub-Mission for differently abled, Sub-Mission for Minorities, Sub-Mission for Hyderabad city. All Sub-Missions will function under the operational control of REEMAP. The District wise employment figures are as follows: Srikakulam – 4,486; Vizianagaram – 4,336; Visakhapatnam – 6,343; East Godavari – 5,643; West Godavari – 5,666; Krishna – 5,077; Guntur – 3,855; Prakasam – 3,455; Nellore – 4,856; Chittoor – 5,232; Kadapa – 3,957; Anantapur – 6,022, Kurnool – 4,633; Mahabubnagar – 1,589; Ranga Reddy – 4,498; Hyderabad – 571; Medak – 3,567; Nizamabad – 2,988; Adilabad – 1,514 and Karimnagar – 4,557.
