1 killed, two children injured in blast at Yousufguda Hyderabad

One seven-year old girl child was killed and two others sustained grievous injuries in a mysterious blast that occurred in a house at Jawaharnagar in Yusufguda area this morning.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the blast occurred in a small tin-roofed house in which two labour families from Seikakulam were living for the past one year.

While the elders of the two families left for work early in the morning, the three kids, all girls aged between five and nine, were playing outside. There was a sudden blast from inside which was heard at a distance of half a kilometer.

The three girls — Kirthiveni ( 7), Narasamma and Yadamma – were seriously injured in the blast. On hearing the blast the neighbours rushed to the spot and found Kirthiveni soaked in blood was lying on the floor and wriggling. The walls were also splattered with blood. The two other kids were also found to be profusely bleeding.

The ambulance was summoned and the injured kids were rushed to the hospital where Kirthiveni succumbed to the injuries. The condition of other two kids is stated to be precarious.

He police along with clues team, dog squad and forensic experts arrived at the scene of incident took up investigation. It is suspected that the blast might have occurred from underneath a boulder due to some pressure. Though it is suspected that some geletine sticks might have been the root cause of the blast, the exact cause could be ascertained only after a thorough check, the police explained. (NSS).
