New Delhi: One person was killed and two others were injured when a car in which they were travelling fell into a gorge in the district, police said on Wednesday.
The accident took place late Tuesday night when the car hit the parapet at Baldiayajhan, 10 km from Nainital, and fell into 200-ft deep gorge, killing one person on the spot and leaving two others injured, Station House Officer, Tallital, Pramod Pathak said.
The deceased has been identified as Mahipal Singh.
Deepak Mehra and Raju Joshi, who sustained injuries, are undergoing treatment at BD Pande hospital.
All the three were residents of Haldwani.
Police was informed about the incident this morning, Pathak said.
