Husaini Alam police arrested a farmer belonging to Mahboob Nagar who was involved in the incident of causing damage to Pochamma temple, Puranapul. It is said that Teraiah Naik who hails from Mahboob Nagar district reached Hyderabad from Peddagutta via lorry to buy fertilizers. He consumed alcohol late at night near Puranapul and later entered into Pochamma temple located near Puranapul darwaza. He vandalised the idol present there. He tried to flee but police took him into custody the same night.
According to reliable sources Teraiah Naik and his wife were having disputes. A case is also booked against him under dowry harassment act and he was sent to jail. Dejected over his marital life he showed anger on the god and allegedly vandalised the idol.
It must be recalled that tension gripped in the area last night after desecration of temple and people belonging to majority community made attacks on Muslims passing by. It was being tried to hold Muslims responsible for the incident.
