Announcing 1-day auto band on December 5, Joint Action Committee for Auto Drivers Union has strongly condemned Road Transport Safety Bill by the central government. Addressing a press conference here auto union leader Mr. Amanullah Khan told that the Road Transport Safety Bill introduced by the central government was damaging for poor auto drivers. He accused central and state governments of snatching the rights of poor auto drivers through anti-poor and anti-people policies. Mr. Amanullah Khan alleged that city traffic police was harassing auto drivers by heaps of challans. He claimed that many auto drivers were forced to change their occupation due to police harassment while they didn’t have any other option save driving auto.
