National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) under Union Ministry of Textiles, is conducting a two-day program “Design Showcase & Infinite Ideas-2015” on May 22 and 23 on the NIFT campus, Madhapur here.
Addressing the media here today, Dr N.J. Rajaram, NIFT Director, G. Chiranjeevi Reddy, F&I A Department said the two-day event will be inaugurated by Kadiam Srihari, Deputy Chief Minister for Higher Education. Dr N.J. Rajaram said the two flagship graduate programs from the departments of Fashion & Life Style Accessories and Fashion communication provide specialization in accessory design and communication design respectively.
The students in their final semester undergo a Graduation Project (GP) in different industries from 18 to 22 weeks. The “Products & Design Ideas” thus developed during GP will be displayed in “Design showcase & Infinite Ideas-2015”. The event showcases an assortment of designs ranging from handicrafts, furniture, jewellery, handbags, home décor, footwear, packaging design, visual merchandising, graphic design, advertising and so on of 60 graduating students from both the Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories and Fashion Communication Departments of the Batch of 2011-15.
They said the display of the same will remain open to public on May 22 and 23 from 12 noon to 5.30 pm. (NSS)
