Sydney, May 25: Parents are being urged not to allow their kids to use website Wikipedia without supervision after an entry on a famous children’s book was edited to contain pornographic material.

Last week, sexual and violent acts between characters were added to the online plot summary for Mrs Frisby And The Rats Of NIMH, which is recommended for students in years 5 to 9.

The edited page for the book, on the list for the Premier’s Reading Challenge, was visible for about an hour before it was changed to the original text.

With skyrocketing divorce rates and a flurry of cases in which older men married young girls, Saudi Arabia is considering a new law to prohibit girls marrying before the age of 18, according to press reports Saturday.

Recognizing changes in contemporary society and the prevalence of divorce among girls married before they turn 18 years old, Justice Minister Mohamed al-Eissa declined to disregard fatwas that permit minor marriages but said that such religious rulings do not address its drawbacks.

Riyadh, May 1: An eight-year-old Saudi girl got divorced from her 50-year-old husband after the marriage drew severe criticism, the girl’s lawyer said Thursday.

Abdullah al-Jeteily said that the court in Onayza city approved the divorce decree after several officials in the region talked with the husband.

Two request by the girl’s mother for a divorce were rejected before, and one judge ruled that the girl would be able to file for divorce herself only after she reaches puberty.

HYDERABAD, April 22: Expressing serious concern over the lack of security for the lower-level judicial officials, several judges of the AP High Court on Tuesday conveyed their apprehensions to the Chief Justice Anil Ramesh Dave after the Tuesday’s acid attack on one of the district judges in East Godavari district.

The chief justice has called for a report on the alleged incident from the district and sessions judge of East Godavari.

Bhopal, April 16: A former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office-bearer Thursday created a sensation by throwing a wooden slipper at senior party leader L.K. Advani when Advani was going up on stage to address a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh.
The man, identified as Pawas Agarwal, threw a ‘khadaun’ or slipper made of wood at Advani, saying he was “a fake iron man” and did not deserve to be the BJP’s prime ministerial aspirant. The incident took place in Katni district, 350 km from here.
