The lawyers raised slogans against Jaipal Reddy such as “Union Minister is Betrayer of Telangana”. The police intervened and prevented the lawyers from barging into the Union Minister’s house resulting in jostling between the police and lawyers.

Later, the police arrested the lawyers and shifted them to Jubilee Hills Police Station.

It might be recalled here that 35-year old Harsha Reddy, a Radiologist working in Yashoda Hospital, went missing a few days back. When the doctor did not reach home after leaving the hospital on Monday night, a complaint was made to the police alleging that he might have been kidnapped.

With Rs 3.3K Cr, AP tops in NREGS spending

Minister for Rural development and NREGS Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad on Thursday stated that the State Government has spent Rs 3,375 crores, the highest amount in the country, towards implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Talking to media persons at the State Secretariat during the Prajahitham programme, the Minister said that Rs 22,512 crore expenditure has incurred since the inception of NREGS benefiting 93 lakh households. He said that 179 crore mandays were provided to rural households with an average wage rate of Rs 93 amounting to total Rs 16,736 crores wages.
